Hello, here I am with the latest. So not the news I was hoping for, thankful not the news I had nightmares about, but in the middle. After review of my scans, all of my tumors have grown 20% or more since September. So this means we have to switch things up. He talked to me about 3 different options. 2 of the options don’t shrink the tumors but try to slow them down. The 3rd (recommended) option is made for shrinking the tumors. It is a chemo I’ve been on before at the beginning and had significant shrinkage of tumors but became allergic after 4 or 5 rounds so I was taken off. The 1st two options are appealing as they aren’t as harsh and they are a pill. I’ve never so bad wanted to choose that more than I did today. However I look at my loved ones and I have to try the big guns while I have the strength. So I chose the chemo infusion. I’m going to be honest, I was hoping to walk in and him say everything is stable and you can have a break thru Jan. That wasn’t the case. My body is growing weak from all these medicines not to mention the mental exhaustion. Again, it could have been much worse!! I’m thankful I’m still in the “shrink the tumors” stage and not just “maintain til the end” stage. Chemo is harsh and I’m tired. But here we go!! Since I was allergic last time they are doing it at a slower rate which means my infusions are 8hrs, leave with a 48hr pump every other week. As always thankful I live in a time where there are medicines to keep me going!! I was told I would be on chemo for life…i better get used to it cause I plan on being here for a while 💙❤💙❤💙 thanks for all the well wishes today!
