Loved NYC – (2/9/18)

Hello I hope all of you are having a great evening! The Brunning’s are staying in tonight after a busy week! So first I will update you on my scans. I went in for my CT scan, doctor appointment and chemo on January 29th. My scan showed all of my cancer had stayed the same and no new tumors found. This of course is GREAT news but I have to be honest, I felt a little disappointed nothing had shrank as this chemo is really the last big regimen that can help tumors shrink…most other treatments just try to stabilize. Like I said, I’m so relieved no growth! The doctor said I will probably only have a couple more of these treatments because you can’t be on this long as it causes permanent side effects such a nerve damage.
While as far as the cancer not much had changed but they did notice that a tumor in my pelvis is pushing against my left Ureter (tube that carries fluid between Kidney and bladder). This is causing my urine to back up and my kidney is retaining fluid..he said my kidney looked angry and the function was significantly decreased. Sooo I now have to go on the 19th to have a stint put in to hopefully relieve this issue. So chemo on the 12th, stint on the 19th.
On to better topics, we LOVED NYC!!!! It was absolutely awesome! It was much bigger than I realized and when I got back I was completely wiped out lol!! We went to the Megyn Kelly show, Central park, Grand Central station, saw the musical Wicked, toured NBC Studios, saw the Statue of Liberty, went to Chelsea Market, rode the Subway, 9-11 memorial, shopped at Times Square and much more!! Thank you to every single one of you who made this dream possible!!! We had the best time just being together and seeing these awesome places!
I would like to end this post by apologizing. I’ve had several of you reach out to me with a message, text etc. I haven’t been to church in a month. Honestly I’ve kinda just been home. Part of staying home is just fear of getting sick with my compromised immune system and my sensitivity to the cold. Also, I just haven’t had the energy some days to even get dressed. Point blank I’ve been in a “funk”.. So I’m currently trying to get my mind back on track and I promise I will return your messages. (Just part of the ugly behind the scenes where cancer tries to steal your spirit and everything you once was)…. I really appreciate those thinking of me a reaching out😍 I just honestly have been so not myself I can’t even respond….I can’t wait for warmer weather as I think that will help.. in the meantime I’m working on getting myself back to functional!! So just bare with me…this is just temporary exhaustion from this crazy ride.
Thanks again for all the prayers, messages and support!! So much love to all of You!
Until next time!!
Love always xoxo
Jessica
