Chemo day! (8/3/16)

Chemo day! (8/3/16)

Good evening! So today was chemo day! We had a bright and early appt to get it done and out of the way!! They put me in a room with a bed and let’s just say I took a long nap…so sorry to my trusty sidekick,Β Brad, he just watched TV and listened to me snore lol.
So on to my my white blood cell count, it has improved just barely over the safe level so they proceeded with chemo. Hopefully this treatment doesn’t bring it back down…from what I understand this is pretty typical. They did however have to hold the Avastin once again because my blood pressure was pretty high..I’m on meds for it but it’s not working also my sugar was over the normal range once again so she was going to call my family doctor and try to get it all squared away..she also was going to test my A1c. Also people have been asking me questions about my treatment and plan..some I have answers for so here it goes..some have asked will I get a break and the answer is no..they told me with Stage 4 cancer I will be on some sort of chemo the rest of my life. I’ve been asked about the genetics test I had back in June..well they made a mistake with getting the biopsy (at IU not Community South) which is the genomics team not the cancer team I see for the 2nd opinion so I won’t get all the info I hoped but they were able to get some info from my tumor on my liver and I have an appointment next week to discuss. I have also been asked about my take home chemo and how it works I will post a pic of my lovely apparatus so u can see what I carry around for 2 days and I get unhooked on Fridays when I go for fluids πŸ™‚ it’s a love hate relationship with that thing…I hate having it but I’m so thankful for it!! I’ve been asked about radiation and they havent mentioned that yet. One last thing i get asked is how often they scan me and i believe every 2 months..not 100% on that. All in all everything is going as planned! I’ve been feeling extra good with having an extra week off of treatment πŸ’œThe treatment is working my scans look good and my cancer marker numbers are going down!!! Yay!!With that said,I’m already feeling the effects of treatment today so for the next few days I will be doing a lot of resting! As always I thank you all for everything and I have to ask to please say a few extra prayers for a few women that I know that are going thru some tough times at the moment…they are very strong but could use the extra prayers to stay strong..For myself and my little family i am constantly reminded God and my family and friends are with me and with that I feel so blessed!

You all have a good night and terrific week!! Lots of love to you allπŸ’™

XOXO
